Initially founded by the talented Shannon Keel, the first ever Education Vacation took place at Sandals Ochi in the beautiful Jamaica! That trip set the tone for what would turn out to be an annual event, each year in a different destination to include St. Lucia, Barbados, Mexico, Jamaica (again) and Costa Rica. After Costa Rica, Shannon passed the baton off to Aubrey Schwoyer as the new organizer. Aubreys first destination was Sandals Grande Antigua in January of 2024.

Aubrey's commitment extends beyond the classroom; she aims to foster the creation of lasting connections and new friendships among like-minded individuals. Networking is not just an event outcome but an ongoing journey that continues to flourish well after the trip concludes.

Timed strategically during the typical salon industry's slow season, education vacations provide hairstylists with the perfect opportunity to re-group, re-center, and relax. Aubrey believes that rejuvenation is a crucial component of professional development, allowing individuals to return to their salons with renewed creativity and a fresh perspective.
